Boys and girls, good afternoon! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is about “Obama”, the new president of the USA.
Barack Obama, the son of a black father from Kenya and a white American mother, was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. Unluckily, when he was 2 years old, his parents got divorced. So he was brought up by his single mother, who had a great effect on him. With a hard life, he was hard on himself because he dreamt of becoming the President. In 1988, he was admitted into Harvard Law School, where he gained his doctor’s degree in 1991. After graduation, he worked as a lawyer, lecturer and then took up politics in 1997, since when his political career has taken off. On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama became the first African American elected President of the United States.
It is obvious that we can learn a lot from Obama. Never say die. Whenever we meet with difficulties, don’t complain about bad luck. We should face them and make every effort to overcome them, just as Obama did. Besides, let dream guide you. Only when we keep a dream in mind can we try our best to realize it.
